At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Samsung has unveiled several versions of a modular 4K TV made up of MicroLED panels called The Wall.

Consisting of individual modules of self-emissive Micro LEDs that are made up of millions of microscopic LED chips, The Wall is designed to be modular so that the individual MicroLED panels can be combined and or separated to create displays of all shapes and sizes.

By utilizing micrometre-scale LEDs, The Wall is able to ensure perfect black levels and superior brightness, as well as better colour purity and a wider colour gamut than conventional LED displays. It also reduces the risk of burn-out and increases the projected lifetime of the TV.

“As the world’s first consumer modular MicroLED television, ‘The Wall’ represents a breakthrough in inspired design and leading-edge innovation with the flexibility to transform into any size, while delivering impressive, brightness, colour gamut, colour volume and black levels,” said Pat Bugos, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Canada.
