In North America, an unmistakable sight defines its streets and highways: the pervasive presence of colossal pickup trucks and SUVs. Although beloved by many, these large vehicles are known to contribute significantly to the severity of accidents, often escalating road hazards due to their sheer size and weight. Moreover, their excessive fuel consumption and higher emissions stand as pillars of environmental concern, exacerbating air pollution and climate-related issues.

Amidst the dominance of large pickup trucks and SUVs, there’s a rising interest in exploring different vehicles that challenge the traditional automotive landscape. One such innovative alternative gaining attention is the Microlino by Switzerland-based company Micro Mobility Systems AG.

In stark contrast to the hulking profiles of conventional vehicles, the Microlino presents a compact, electric microcar concept that embodies efficiency, sustainability, and urban mobility. Its diminutive size and eco-friendly design offer a distinct departure from the colossal stature of conventional automobiles, advocating for a more compact and environmentally conscious approach to personal transportation.

Despite its diminutive footprint, it comfortably accommodates two adults within a surprisingly spacious interior and generously offers 230 litres of trunk space, redefining efficiency without compromising comfort or practicality in urban settings.

Equipped with Lithium-Ion batteries ranging from 6 kWh to 14 kWh, it’s capable of a max speed range of 90km/h and up to 230 kilometres on a single charge. Even more impressively, recharging is a breeze, requiring only 3 to 4 hours from a standard household plug, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum convenience for daily use.

Unfortunately, Microlino is not currently available for sale in North America. Microlino’s version for the US is said to require specific design modifications due to distinct legal regulations in the country.
