In the heart of London, at the Material Matters fair as part of the London Design Festival 2023, digital and physical platform Isola is making its grand debut with an exhibition that challenges the conventions of design and showcases the power of sustainability.

Under the theme “Nothing Happens if Nothing Happens,” Isola brings together a global community of designers, studios, and creators who share a passion for conscious and circular design.

The Founding Story

Founded in Milan in 2017, Isola connects independent designers and design studios with professionals, companies, curators, journalists, and clients globally. Isola prioritizes sustainability, innovation, and handcraft in the projects it showcases.

It organizes events, including the Isola Design Festival, participates in major international design weeks, and launched a digital platform in 2021 to foster a global community of creative individuals. Isola is dedicated to supporting conscious circular design, promoting sustainability, and creating opportunities for designers worldwide.

A Fusion of Vision and Purpose

At the iconic Bargehouse in Oxo Tower Wharf on London’s Southbank, Isola’s exhibition is nothing short of a visual and conceptual spectacle. The collaborative efforts of designers, architects, and innovative thinkers have given rise to an inspiring showcase of sustainable design, pushing the boundaries of what is possible when vision and purpose converge.

The Soft City Concept

Central to Isola’s exhibition is the concept of “The Soft City.” Here, the urban environment is reimagined through a lens of soft materials that prioritize comfort, human-centric design, and sustainability. This unique vision challenges the rigid structures traditionally associated with urban spaces, offering an alternative perspective that emphasizes the tactile and inviting qualities of soft materials.
