European luggage brand Horizn Studios has just created an eco-friendly suitcase.

Dubbed Circle One, it is being hailed as the world’s most sustainable luxury luggage for being plant-based and biodegradable.

Specifically, the Circle One suitcase features a hard shell made of a patented natural fibre composite called BioX. According to the brand, BioX is made of 100% renewable materials, including a multi-density flax-fibre weave. Flax is one of Europe’s strongest and most productive renewable fibres. When suspended in resin, its textile strength is unmatched. In fact, it’s three times stronger than aluminum.

Beyond the BioX outer shell, the Circle One model also features recycled lining and zippers, seed and nutshell-infused handles, and a magnesium telescope.

Plus, each Circle One suitcase was made locally in Europe as part of Horizn Studios’ mission to improve circularity.

In total, Circle One comes in four translucent colourways: Night (black), Earth (cream), Sun (yellow), and Sky (blue). It will also be shipped in recycled cardboard boxes, free from plastic of any kind. Suitcases can be purchased with an Extended Care option that includes a five-year warranty and a carbon-neutral pick-up and shipping service.

Currently available for pre-order on Horizn Studios’ website, the Circle One‘s expected delivery date is October 2021.
