Wholly succulent and delicious, it’s hard to believe that Beyond Meat’s burger patty is 100% plant-based. As of late, Canadians can now get their hands on the latest iteration of the Beyond Burger in grocery stores nationwide.
Composed of peas, rice and mung beans, the new and improved Beyond Burger is completely devoid of GMOs, soy, gluten, artificially produced ingredients, cholesterol, antibiotics or hormone and features 35% less saturated fat when compared to a conventional beef burger.
The plant-based burger patties are also being locally made in a Quebec co-manufacturing facility, cutting down the environmental impact associated with transportation.
“We look forward to providing the Canadian consumer with our latest burger iteration and to furthering our commitment to this important market by investing in local production,” said Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat. “Our process of rapid and relentless innovation in service of the consumer, and making investments in the markets we serve, are key pillars in our company’s strategy to provide delicious and nutritious plant-based protein with a lower environmental footprint”.
Plant-based food products are currently soaring in the market, as an influx of people search for ways to lead a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. By choosing Beyond Meat, customers can contribute to saving a significant amount of water, energy and land that would otherwise be needed to farm meat; overall reducing greenhouse emission.
Perfect for barbeques or a tasty evening meal, adding Beyond Meat’s plant-based patties onto grocery lists is a progressive step in the right direction for the environment.
