According to Statistica, China currently has the largest hog population in the world and accounts for more than half of the global pig population. With 54% of the country’s meat industry output being pork, it is also the most common meat found in Chinese dishes.

Aiming to disrupt the market is Honk Kong-based company Good Food Technologies, who just launched a brand new plant-based brand called Plant Sifu.

Made using AROMAX, Good Food’s proprietary fat technology, Plant Sifu’s pork is 100% plant-based and features zero cholesterol, zero hormones, zero antibiotics, no added MSG, and no preservatives. Good Food says that their plant-based pork has fewer calories, less fat, and less sodium when compared to real pork.

“Taste is our number one priority. PLANT SIFU represents everything tasty in Chinese and Asian plant-based cuisines,” reads the brand’s website.
