Luxury Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta continues to push its sustainability initiatives. After repurposing a range of its most popular bags out of 100% recycled paper for Fall/Winter 2020, the Daniel Lee-helmed label (formerly at Phoebe Philo’s Céline) has unveiled a 100% biodegradable clog for its latest seasonal range dubbed “Salon 01”.

Inspired by the unmissable and viral Puddle Boots from the previous season, this spring-ready clog features a similar minimalist aesthetic as the aforementioned Puddle Boot, however boasting an entirely new concept.

Although it visually sports the fashion house’s signature bulky toe, the Bottega Veneta clog is designed with a low-cut style and sling-back heel support and features a tongue element and flat sole bed. It also incorporates seamless construction throughout. The clog arrives in neutral tones of coral pink, cream, and brown.

Made from a biodegradable polymer base, the Puddle Boot-inspired clog can be dissolved when buried underground or in a controlled environment by introducing microorganisms.
