Italian fashion brand Bottega Veneta at Milan Fashion Week has presented a 100% biodegradable boot as part of its Fall/Winter 2020 collection.

Among the pieces designed by Daniel Lee, creative dirctor of Bottega Veneta, the chunky boot stands out for its sustainability and unique form.

Rather than being made from synthetic materials that are harmful to the environment, rubber made with natural molecules derived from sugarcane and coffee is used to create the boots. When buried, the boot is said to biodegrade within a year.

The striking colour palette of the boot includes hot pink, brown, black, slime green, orange and beige.

Intended to be a unisex boot, models of both sexes were seen wearing the boot as they walked a Renaissance-inspired runway.
