With the mission of setting a “slower pace in the age of fast fashion”, Zue Anna is a Germany-based apparel company that is creating animal-friendly and sustainable pullovers made from Merino Wool.

Putting the welfare of Merino sheep at the forefront of importance, Zue Anna upholds various practices such as slow shearing, avoiding pesticide baths, providing comprehensive medical care, and more.

“We break the rules and make a difference,” said Zue Anna. “There is no need for harm- and painful practices like mulesing, which is cutting off strips of skin from around the buttock area, tail docking, eartags, dehorning and castration, all done without anesthesia. We leave sheep as they are. Natural, free and happy about their lives.”

“Proper husbandry and mulesing-free virgin wool still do not mean a happy life for animals. That’s why we’ve defined a new, globally unique standard for making our merino wool, which not only produces an exceptional product, but also ensures the happy and peaceful life of our sheep.”

Utilizing a traditional spinning mill to spin the yarn, the V-neck pullovers are knitted and handsewn in an Audrey Hepburn style.

“The Audrey Hepburn style, characterized by subtly feminine garments of simple elegance, has already inspired legendary fashion designers such as Hubert de Givenchy and Salvatore Ferragamo. Our women’s knit sweater follows the tradition of the Audrey Hepburn style and embodies a timelessly classic style,” noted Zue Anna.

“Our creeks and lakes can run clear and free, because we do not use sulfuric acid. Your skin can breathe because we do not use metal colors and our earth can live, because we do not produce waste and the pullover is biodegradable,” added Zue Anna.
