Based in Oslo, Norway, New Movements is a footwear brand that is creating sneakers made from natural and recycled materials.

Created with the goal of realizing “a better and greener tomorrow”, the Model NM sneakers are described by New Movements as being comfortable, long-lasting, high-quality, and perfect for styling with everyday pieces.

Comprised of materials such as Italian leather free from toxic chemicals, shoelaces made of 100% recycled plastic, outsoles made of 70% recycled rubber, wood, wool and natural latex, the sneakers are sustainably and responsibly handmade in Portugal.

“Currently, 90% of the sneakers made today are produced in Asia, often under poor working conditions and with a fast fashion approach. Model NM is ethically made in Portugal which is considered to have the best shoemakers in the world.”

In total, there are seven colour variations available.

Packaged and shipped in a 100% recycled cardboard box, customers will receive a 100% cotton bag and 2.2 lbs (1 kg) of plastic waste will also be removed from the ocean per each pair of sneakers sold.

“In New Movements, we are aware of this massive problem that our planet is suffering. That is the reason why we collaborate with the plastic waste movement Empower,” said New Movements. “Together we help local communities, providing jobs and save the environment.”

“We are on a mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable and ethical products for the benefit of the earth and humanity. We are super excited to see people walk with impact.”
