Winnie Harlow has recently launched her own sun care brand called CAY SKIN that is inclusively designed for “everyone under the sun.”

Known for challenging the beauty standard of runways, Harlow is a supermodel who has embraced her vitiligo, an autoimmune disorder and skin condition that results in loss of pigment cells. Because of her condition, skincare and suncare protection are a priority so when she suffered a severe sunburn and sun damage from an all-day outdoor photoshoot back in 2018 that is said to have permanently changed her vitiligo, Harlow was inspired to create CAY SKIN.

Currently, CAY SKIN offers three products: Isle Glow Face Lotion SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 45, Universal Mineral Face Lotion SPF 55, and an Isle Lip Balm SPF 30. An Isle Body Oil SPF 30 will soon become available.

According to the sun care brand, their vegan and cruelty-free formulas are made using a custom blend of high-performance skincare actives and island-based ingredients such as sea moss.
“We want to create the safest, healthiest, cleanest SPF products without sacrificing their performance,” reads CAY SKIN’s website. “All of our products comply with the Hawaii Act 104, which was passed to protect coral reefs. It means that these formulas do not contain coral-harming chemicals Oxybenzone and Octinoxate.”

On top of it all, 75% of CAY SKIN’s primary product packaging is made up of at least 30% post-consumer recycled content. In addition, their secondary cartons and shippers are made from 100% FSC-certified paperboard.
“Our brand is on a mission to create sustainable, skin loving products for everyone under the sun to feel confident in their skin every day.”
