Together with Italian studio Archirivolto Design, office furniture company Actiu has created a “100% sustainable concept” chair that is made from 80% post-consumer recycled plastic and 20% recycled fibreglass.

Called Fluit, the stackable chair is designed to be suitable for both office and hospitality settings. According to Actiu, the design was inspired by a 16th-century Dutch sailing ship, with optimal use of space utilized for efficiency and storability.

“This design, which stands out for its fluid nature and sensitivity, has been brought to life in a slender and light yet very stable and robust piece,” says Actiu.

“Fluit is thus born from the sea, a Mediterranean Sea that is part of our Italian, Spanish and European culture. And it is conceived as a multifunctional piece, capable of blending into all environments: hospitality, work and training”, adds Archirivolto Design.
