In collaboration with plus-size model Paloma Elsesser, Los Angeles-based designer Alexia Elkaim of fashion brand Miaou recently released a joint collection all entirely made from deadstock fabrics.

The size-inclusive Paloma collection, which includes corsets, skirts, dresses, bikinis, and more, was creatively directed by Paloma herself and said to be informed by over a decade of friendship between the model and designer.

“This collection means so much to us, for a number of reasons. It’s long been a goal at Miaou to be able to offer extended sizes, and with this collection, we are so thrilled to finally be taking our first step towards that, launching up to a size 4XL,” says Miaou.

“What makes this collaboration all the more special is the fact that I got to design it with Paloma, my closest friend of over 15 years, and someone as important to me as Miaou itself. Paloma and I have both grown so much as people, as creatives, and as friends. It felt right to come together at this intersection in our lives and careers and create something that would speak to both of us, and to both of our communities.”

“We wanted to create a collection that resonated with more body-types and made each of our Muses feel sexy, iconic, and empowered,” adds Miaou. “Together, we came up with designs, shapes, and color-ways ranging in sizes from XS – 4XL, that felt exciting and unique, and that represented both of our styles in their own way.”

“This collection offers a glimpse into who we are as people, as well as friends and serves as a testament to how we’ve grown together to create something to share with you all.”
