Earlier this summer when Japanese model and TV personality Rola launched her own brand named Studio R330, the stated goal was to promote health and wellbeing by offering “essentials for a good life.”

The inspiration for Studio R330 comes from Rola’s journey of moving from Tokyo to Los Angeles where she discovered a natural and sustainable way of living.

With Studio R330’s inaugural collection composed of eco-friendly workout wear made from recycled polyester, the brand introduced organic cotton hoodies and t-shirts into its lineup shortly after. The newest entry for Studio R330 is sustainably made denim jeans.

Partnered with Saitex, a B Corp certified denim factory located in Vietnam, Studio R330’s jeans are created with the utmost care for the environment.

At Saitex, only 1.5 litres of water is used to create a pair of jeans, while the industry norm is 80 litres. On top of that, Saitex recycles 98 percent of the water used during denim production. In fact, the recycled and filtered water is so clean that it is drinkable.

In addition, a toxic byproduct called sludge from Saitex’s wastewater treatment plants is sent to a local brick factory so that it can be mixed with concrete and turned into bricks that are environmentally safe.

Saitex also utilizes renewable energy with solar panels, employs natural lighting and reduces energy consumption by air-drying their denim. In total, Saitex says they save roughly 13 million kilowatt-hours per year.

Designed with inclusivity in mind, the R330 Denim Collection is made up of four jeans of different shades that fit seamlessly and are described as being the most comfortable ever. “A beautiful silhouette that pursues the ultimate simplicity and wraps the wearer’s body in a healthy and sexy manner,” Studio R330 says.

For every pair of jeans sold, Studio R330 will plant 10 trees as part of their FOREST R330 project in partnership with non-profit One Tree Planted. The purpose of the project is to reduce CO2 emissions, protect Indonesian orangutans that are endangered, and support the conversion of palm oil plantations to more renewable alternatives.

Perfect to match with the R330 Denim Collection is the new R330 Shirt Collection. Made up of three button-up styles, the shirts are 100% organic cotton.
