Founded by Kailey Donewald, Sacred Serve is a Chicago-based company that is serving up vegan gelato made from organic and fair-trade ingredients.
Previously, the gelato brand used 100% plastic-free, recyclable and compostable cartons for packaging, but there is a reason why boxed ice cream fell out of fashion. Some reasons include inefficient assembly, difficult and messy scooping, prone to freezer burn, etc.
Hence, Sacred Serve got with the times and introduced pint packaging. Rest be assured, it’s also 100% plastic-free, recyclable and compostable.
“At the heart of Sacred Serve is our mission to influence and elevate the current food system — from both a nutritional as well as a sustainability standpoint,” says Donewald. “Packaging has been a major problem for the frozen set as a whole, and we’re thrilled to introduce a solution in a readily adoptable format to help push the entire category forward. We are proud to be planet-based inside and out.”
Flavours offered by Sacred Serve include tigernut cookies n creme, chaga chocolate, matcha mint chip, coconut salted caramel, and Saffron chai spice. Sacred Serve’s gelato can be ordered online on their website or found in-store nationwide in the US.
