American singer Pharrell just announced that he will be launching a new skincare brand called Humanrace.
The media and fans alike have frequently commented on Pharrell’s impeccable and envious skin, so a skincare brand makes perfect sense as the 47-year-old artist’s next business venture.
Pharrell has described Humanrace as being designed for all, regardless of race or gender. It is intended to be a celebration of all humans.
In order to bring Humanrace to life, Pharrell consulted with his personal dermatologist of over 20 years, Dr. Elena Jones. Together, they created the three core products in the inaugural collection: the Rice Powder Cleanser, the Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator, and the Humidifying Cream.
According to Pharrell, the three-product skincare line was designed to exfoliate and moisturize the skin, and should take a total of three minutes to use in conjunction.
Exfoliating is something that Pharrell has always been vocal about, and he worked to ensure that Humanrace’s Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator was free of rocks, nuts, seeds, or plastic particles, as not only can these be harmful to the environment, but they can also lead to micro-tearing in the skin.
All Humanrace products are vegan and do not contain any of the 1,300 ingredients banned by Europe. Further, each of the formulas are all-natural, and consist of supercharged ingredients like kaolin clay, snow mushroom extract, and glycolic acid.
Beyond the ingredients used in the formulas, Pharrell also made sure that Humanrace’s manufacturing processes and packaging were sustainable. That is why the chic green tubes that the products are packaged in are made out of 50% post-consumer recycled landfill plastic. There is also a removable inner chamber to each product that is refillable, in order to reduce single-use plastic.
Humanrace’s inaugural collection is set to become available via the brand’s website on November 25.
