Luxury goods company Dior has announced a new slate of beauty products for 2021, one being the refillable Rouge Dior Lip Balm. This new lip balm represents a marked effort by Dior to introduce more sustainable products to its customers.

The all-new Rouge Dior Lip Balm is made out of 95% natural ingredients such as red peony extract, shea butter, and pomegranate blossom extract. Dior says that these natural ingredients work together to hydrate and nourish the lips, and that the new balm can be worn on its own or beneath lipstick.

The Rouge Dior Lip Balm comes in one universal hue dubbed “000 Diornatural.” It is translucent and therefore suitable for all skin tones.

Dior claims that with the release of the Rouge Dior Lip Balm, they are the first couture brand to sell a balm made with 95% ingredients of natural origin. They state that the percentage was determined with supplier data and their own calculations based on the International Organization for Standardization’s guidelines on the criteria for and definitions of natural ingredients in cosmetics, otherwise known as ISO 16128 PART II.

Further, Dior announced revamped packaging for one of their most popular beauty product, their Rouge Dior. Peter Philips, the makeup creative and image director at Dior, revealed that Rouge Dior lipstick will now be sold in refillable cases to reduce the amount of waste that the beauty industry is responsible for each year.
