Italian fashion house Miu Miu has just launched their new eco-friendly label dubbed Upcycled by Miu Miu. The first collection to debut from the new upcycled label will be a line of bespoke party dresses.

The fashion house spent considerable time scouring the globe, in search of vintage dresses that hail as far back as the 1930s, all the way up to frocks from the 1980s. Once found, Miu Miu began reworking these vintage dresses, making sure that the original cloth of each garment was preserved. After being restored, the dresses are being finished with all kinds of embroideries and embellishments, a signature addition to all Miu Miu pieces.

The overall goal of Upcycled by Miu Miu is to re-imagine old garments through the Miu Miu lens, and ultimately extend and renew the life of garments worn and loved in the past.

The inaugural Upcycled by Miu Miu collection will feature just 80 pieces, each being one of a kind. Each dress will be individually numbered and available exclusively in the brand’s nine flagship boutiques. These boutiques are located in Tokyo, New York, London, Paris, Milan, Moscow, St. Moritz, Hong Kong, and Shanghai IFC.

The second announcement made by Miu Miu this week is in regards to yet another Upcycled by Miu Miu collection, this one created in partnership with American denim brand Levi’s

Miu Miu says that they will be launching a collection in collaboration with Levi’s in the spring of 2021, and the line will centre on providing new life to pre-loved Levi’s denim.
