Ordinary Habit

Are you bored and looking to pick up something new to kill time during the COVID-19 lockdown? Ordinary Habit’s beautiful lineup of jigsaw puzzles made from recycled materials not only provides hours of fun but they also double as a work of art. Even the thick puzzle boxes are purposely made to look right at home on your bookshelf.

Recently the label, founded by mother-daughter duo Teresa and Echo Hopkins in 2019, launched its first-ever 1000-piece puzzle collection.

Acting as the third collection in its offering, the new limited-edition range includes four different artworks by four female illustrators including Sara Boccaccini Meadows, Lucie Green, Maggie Stephenson, and Maja Tomljanovic. Each relaxing jigsaw puzzle features sharp design sensibilities and is created to be both fun and functional while helping people to access habitual moments of calm and connectedness.

First up Meadows’s artwork, dubbed Jungle Hike, features three friends enjoying the luscious jungle. The scene is filled with various foliage and plants. Moving on, Green’s Peace and Sweetness is a floral landscape collage filled with lavender, bluebells, chrysanthemums, and much more, while Stephenson’s How I Will Spend the Summer is a dreamy beach scene with pink umbrellas, palm trees, and tropical fruits. Lastly, Tomljanovic’s Chillin’ spotlights the vibrant streets and buildings of Lisbon, Portugal.

All of the Ordinary Habit’s puzzles are finished with a soft-touch, glare-free coat and comes packaged in a drawstring cloth bag. The puzzles are designed in the USA and manufactured in Poland by a team of skilled craftsmen. Along with its 1000-piece puzzle collection, Ordinary Habit also offers up a 500-piece puzzle range and 100-piece mini puzzles, along with a matching cards game.

All 1000-piece puzzles are available now via Ordinary Habit’s online store and range from $48 USD/$60 CAD per puzzle to $180 USD/$225 CAD for a bundle. A portion of the profits will be donated monthly to the Loveland Foundation, which provides financial assistance for therapy and other mental health services for Black women and girls.
