Globally, COVID-19 has caused roughly 75,900 fatalities to date. Among the many countries affected, Italy sits at the top for most fatalities, followed by the United States, Spain, and Germany.

To help the Italians fight against COVID-19, Bvlgari, an Italian luxury brand specializing in jewelry, watches, bags, fragrances and accessories, is producing hand sanitizer in partnership with ICR (Industrie Cosmetiche Riunite).

Hand in Hand with Italy. In these uncertain times, Bvlgari feel compelled to act, and to take real steps towards aiding our fellow citizens. As proud Italians, we hold this responsibility to our country close to our hearts,” said Bvlgari.

Packaged in recyclable 75 ml bottles, the hand sanitizer is distributed by Italy’s Civil Protection Department. Over the following months, Bvlgari estimates more than 100,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to be produced and donated.

Bvlgari also recently made a financial donation to the Research Department of the Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital in Rome. With the donation, a new 3D microscope was purchased. “Thanks to its ability to accurately identify microscopic cell structures even on three-dimensional biological samples and to follow their growth and interaction with other microorganisms over time, it is the best tool for studying Coronavirus infections at a cellular level,” explained Bvlgari. “This type of microscope is the first to be installed in the city of Rome, and will allow INMI researchers to carry out innovative experimental research protocols.”
