Issue Twelve

The latest sustainable brand to make its mark in the fashion world is Britain’s Issue Twelve.

Dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint, the Leah Chapman-helmed label (her parents Tom and Ruth Chapman are the founders of MATCHESFASHION.com) produces all of its looks in London in addition to collaborating with local producers and expert makers. Moreover, the brand only produces in factories that use renewable energy and mills that use solar and hydroelectric energy. Even the water used in production is recycled.

Inspired by Chapman’s upbringing in London and her time studying abroad in California, Issue Twelve’s inaugural collection perfectly balances London’s timeless silhouettes with LA’s modernism. The range comprises a lineup of minimalist styles and utilitarian tailoring that are both functional as they are comfortable.

Highlights of Issue Twelve’s debut capsule include the tailored yet playful jumpsuit, the luxurious cashmere overcoat, and the meticulously crafted organic silk knitted shirtdress. Additionally, the suit trousers and suit jacket paired together make the perfect office outfit, while cable vest and organic cotton jeans are perfect for a casual stroll around town.

Maintaining its minimalist and timeless tone, the garments are dressed in natural hues of “Optic White,” “Parchment,” and “Stone Grey” to pastel tones of “Eggshell Blue” and “Dusty Lemon.”

Issue Twelve prioritizes certified Global Organic Textile Standard fibres in its offerings, as well as virgin wool sourced from a leading responsible Merino sheep farm in Australia. Even the Corozo buttons are made from Tagua Palm nuts blown from trees. Finally, the Tencel blend used in the halter-top is made from pulp from eucalyptus trees in sustainably managed forests.

Issue Twelve’s inaugural pieces are available online. Orders will be shipped in boxes made from 85% recycled cardboard and are fully recyclable after use. The bio poly bags are also 100% biodegradable and use 100% water-based inks.
