To coincide with the release of their August issue (dubbed the “Badass Women” issue), women’s magazine InStyle recently launched its own line of lipsticks. Fittingly named the “Badass Lipstick” collection, the line is inspired by the mantra, “show up, speak up, get things done.”
“InStyle has always been an authority on stylish stuff. Now, the same in-house creative team behind InStyle magazine, InStyle.com, and everything in the Badass universe is making some gorgeous products just for you… InStyle presents an ever-evolving collection of essential items to make being a badass that much more fun. We’ve paid special attention to filtering out useless nonsense and dialed right down to what’s absolutely necessary to make you go boom: a perfect tote, T-shirt, lipstick, candle, or cream to begin with, with more to come as inspiration strikes, as it often does,” reads the magazine’s website.
Not only is there an undeniable feminist undertone to the collection, but each Badass Lipstick is also gluten-free, cruelty-free, and comes in sustainable packaging specifically designed to reduce waste.
InStyle’s new Badass Lipstick is available in four shades: a deep red, a bright red, a peachy pink, and a sheer berry. Although there are a total of four hues, each lipstick comes in matte, cream, and sheer finishes so women can choose their preferred texture.
Better Off Red is the first lipstick in the collection, a deep, spicy red hue with gold undertones. Next is Rebel Rouser, a bold matte red that promises to go on smooth every time. Then there’s peachy keen, the line’s more neutral shade, considered a slight upgrade on your typical nude lipstick. Finally, Legend Berry is both ultra-hydrating and sheer, providing a subtle boost of colour at any time of day. With the exception of Legend Berry, the rest of the lipsticks are vegan.
Thanks to the helpful YouCam tool on InStyle’s website, consumers can virtually try on each shade of Badass Lipstick before they make their purchase.
