Described as an “urban restaurant with obvious romantic and rural references”, Høst is a restaurant located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Designed by Norm Architects in collaboration with Danish design house Menu, the restaurant is owned and operated by Copenhagen restaurateurs Cofoco.
“Høst is the Danish word for harvest,” said Cofoco. “As the name reveals, great Nordic ingredients and seasonal greens sets the agenda at the best of both worlds.”
“Høst is an embodiment of the clash between romanticism and modernity; a space of multiple stories intertwining and correlating to form an inspirational and aesthetic universe for all senses,” said Norm Architects. “The classic virtues of Nordic cooking have found its contemporary counterpart at Höst.
With the restaurant residing in a classic Copenhagen building, Cofoco says that the exposed brick walls and Danish midcentury furniture “reflects the kitchens’ ability to mix the minimalist and the idyllic”.
Utilizing various materials such as reclaimed pallets, vintage lamps and windows from an old hospital, the interior’s atmosphere is a combination of cozy, simple, and pleasant.
Serving seasonal dishes such as witch flounder with cauliflower and blue mussel sauce, cod with lingonberries, Norwegian lobster and sea buckthorn with carrots, and scallops with horseradish, there is also a vegetarian menu comprised of fried cauliflower with sunflower seeds and ‘Northern Sea’ cheese, fried broccoli with coriander and lemon balm, and more.
