Emporio Armani’s Nautical-Inspired SS21 Capsule Uses Eco-Sustainable Fabrics

Italian luxury fashion house Emporio Armani has released a sustainable capsule collection inspired by the sea and Navy.

Nautical influences are seen throughout Emporio Armani’s capsule, which comprises a range of utilitarian silhouettes and accessory items dressed in fitting hues of airy white and regal navy blue. Pieces include Bermuda shorts, cargo pants, anoraks, overalls, parkas, small tops, oversized sweaters, and lightweight duster coats, along with futuristic sunglasses, bucket hats, watches, and carryall bags.

The functional items are elevated with hoods, buckle closures, horn toggles, contrasting seams, and drawstrings. And to further push its sustainability ethos, “Save the Earth” in brushstroke detailing appears on a few select pieces.

The looks in Emporio Armani’s SS21 capsule are designed with state-of-the-art textile research and development focusing on practical, functional design and the environment.

The pieces in the seasonal range are made from eco fabrics and technical materials such as GREENLON and NEWLIFE, which are crafted from Italian-sourced nylon and post-consumer polyester derived from plastic bottles.

Also utilized are Italian yarns comprising of organic cotton that additionally boasts a low environmental impact since it’s sourced locally. Finally, crinkled nylon, which’s been repurposed from recycled plastic waste including fishing nets and lint from synthetic carpets, is also used in creating the looks.

Moreover, the organic cotton is grown without pesticides and employs no GMO. Even the watches and sunglasses are low-impact, whilst the shopper is made from pre-consumer cotton. On top of that, each piece from the collection arrives in certified compostable packaging.
