Dieux Skin is one of the newest skincare brands on the market and they recently debuted their very first product – The Forever Eye Mask.
Aiming to minimize the waste that comes from sheet masks, Dieux Skin’s vegan, cruelty-free, and reusable under eye mask promises to give you all the benefits of an under-eye sheet mask, without having to dispose of anything afterwards.
The mask is made out of 100% medical-grade silicone, which is a non-porous material that was chosen due to its long-term, made-to-last potential. That was also why Dieux Skin chose to house The Forever Eye Mask in a heavy-duty metal tin that they hope consumers will house their masks in for years to come.
In the minds of Dieux Skin’s founders, Joyce de Lemos, Marta Freedman and Charlotte Palermino, The Forever Eye Mask was a no-brainer. They wanted to turn what had traditionally been thought of as a single-use product into a reusable product while allowing consumers to have a higher quality experience (since they claim that the creams and gels in your bathroom cupboard tend to be much higher quality than that which comes with the single-use under-eye masks you buy at the drugstore).
How the Forever Eye Mask works is by applying your favourite gel, serum, or cream onto your skin where the mask will rest. From there, peel off each mask and place them over top of the product you just applied. Leave them on for 10 to 15 minutes, remove the masks, and clean them with mild soap and warm water.
They can be stored anyplace that is dry and cool, however, Dieux Skin recommends putting them right back in the durable aluminum tin they came in. (For a cooling effect, Dieux Skin also says you can store them in the fridge or freezer.)
What’s great about Dieux Skin’s Forever Mask is not just that it cuts back on waste (something that the beauty industry is notorious for), but it allows consumers to use the eye gel or cream of their choice with the masks. The only products Dieux Skin does not recommend using with The Forever Eye Mask are prescription retinols, alpha hydroxy acids, or any resurfacing active that is not specifically formulated for the delicate under-eye area of the skin.
For those unaware, applying an under-eye mask offers benefits such as reducing redness, decreasing puffiness, and hydrating the skin.
The Forever Eye Mask is $25 USD and is available for pre-order now. Currently, Dieux Skin only ships to the continental United States but is hoping to introduce international shipping options in the near future.
