One label that needs to be added to your grocery list is California-based company Brightland.

Looking to improve wellbeing and confidence in the kitchen, the label was founded by Aishwarya Iyer in 2018. She wanted to start the conversation around high-quality olive oils and vinegar after her research showed most people were consuming olive oils that are either adulterated or rancid.

Aiming to be as transparent in the food industry as possible, Iyer ensures authenticity by avoiding any artificial preservatives in Brightland’s products. Its olive oils and vinegar are never rotten or overprocessed and contain no fillers or artificial preservatives.

On top of that, the oils are loaded with a high polyphenol count, disease-fighting antioxidants, and powerful anti-inflammatory properties like oleocanthal. These ingredients have powerful biological effects, which help to promote glowing skin, eyes, and hair while stimulating cellular restoration, preservation, and longevity.

All of Brightland’s high-quality extra virgin olive oils and vinegar are fermented and produced ethically at a family-run farm located in California. Fresh fruits are used instead of added unnatural flavours, resulting in rich antioxidants that promote gut health and digestion. The label’s offering of extra virgin olive oils is made from handpicked, organic heirloom Frantoio olives. They’re harvested early in the process, giving them a slightly bitter, grassy taste, and milled in a certified organic mill.

The range includes AWAKE, perfect for soups, stews, pasta, and bread; ALIVE, for salads, dressings, and marinades; LUCID, a custom-blended lemon olive oil that’s perfect for baked goods and greens; ARDOR, a chilli oil made from red chilli, jalapeno, chipotle peppers, and paprika, and works for pasta, pizza, and noodles; and ARISE, a basil olive oil for melon, cakes, and salads. Each oil has a smoke point of 410 degrees.

As a bonus, Brightland oils can be used as a luxurious and natural beauty treatment. Add a few drops to your face and body for glowing skin, or your hair for extra shine.

Brightland’s new range of vinegar includes PARASOL and RAPTURE, the former is a raw champagne vinegar that is double fermented with Californian chardonnay grapes and Navel and Valencia oranges, while the latter is a raw balsamic vinegar double fermented with Californian zinfandel grapes and ripe Triple Crown blackberries. In terms of flavour, PARASOL offers up a citrusy taste that pairs well with salads or grilled dishes, while RAPTURE offers up a bold berry flavour that can be drizzled atop fruits and vegetables.

For those looking to add some ethically sourced ingredients to their pantry essentials, head over to Brightland’s website to purchase the olive oils and vinegar now. The 200ml bottles of PARASOL and RAPTURE vinegar will see a limited run and retails for $22 USD each (approximately $29 CAD). Brightland also offers a subscription that can be customized to one, two, or three-month delivery times.

All the oils come packaged in 375ml glass bottles that have been UV-coated to protect the olive oils from damaging light, while the vinegar is contained in recyclable glass bottles.
