Beauty brand LIVE TINTED led by South Asian entrepreneur Deepica Mutyala has released Hueguard, a gamechanger in the world of skincare that promises no white cast.
Sunscreen has always been a challenging game to play when it comes to coloured skin, as it comes with the uninvited white cast. Usually, upon application, normal sunscreens leave a white layer on the skin, which does not suit brown and black skin tones and leads to an unblended makeup look. Women who are blessed with melanin in abundance often have to choose between sun protection or a dusty complexion that is not their own.
However, Mutyala promises change with Hueguard, LIVE TINTED’s very first venture into skincare. The mineral sunscreen promises no white cast, due to reduced levels of zinc oxide, which creates the white cast in the first place. The mineral sunscreen not only provides protection from the sun but also UVA, UVB and blue light.
Hueguard is truly a revolutionary product, and is a true tube of goodness, as it is also environmentally friendly. The tube is 100% PCR, vegan, reef safe, fragrance-free and promises protection with no compromise. Hueguard is also a three-in-one product that serves the purpose of a sunscreen, primer and moisturizer, that provides sun protection and a dewy and glowy look at the same time.
The mineral sunscreen is not typically white, but a light daffodil yellow, which blends perfectly and suits coloured skin.
According to the brand, almost 10,000 people signed up for an early waitlist to receive offers and information about Hueguard. The sunscreen is their first skincare product, but will definitely not be their last considering the community they have built in a span of just two years.
