Conceived in 2012 by Jessie Andrews, the founder of cult-favourite labels Jeu Illimite and Basic Swim, jewellery brand Bagatiba has been seen on the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Kaia Gerber, the Hadids, Jenners, and Kardashians.

Recently, Bagatiba released a new customizable and eco-friendly range named “Cara Collection.” The latest collection of handcrafted fine jewellery from the Los Angeles-based brand comprises of multi-coloured carabiner-style clips that can be linked together to create necklaces, bracelets, and more statement accessories.

Each minimalistic Cara clip arrives in either a brushed gold plated or stainless steel option, and can be solely worn on its own to embellish a pair of jeans, or can be customized into any desired piece. To create a bracelet, 10 to 13 clips are needed, while a necklace takes around 20 to 25 pieces.

For those looking to create something a bit different, the Cara clips can also be joined to make belts, anklets, bag accessories, or can be added to purses or existing jewelry. In terms of details, each Cara clip is elevated with Bagatiba branding laser engraved on the bottom.

On top of being eco-friendly, Bagatiba’s range of handcrafted jewellery is made ethically, responsibly, and sustainably. In addition to the latest Cara range, the label has a sprawling selection of necklaces, chokers, rings, and body jewellery.

Each item is manufactured in small quantities to prevent overproduction. The pieces are made from SGS Certified and Mill Test Certified metals, including gold-filled, silver and gold plated, stainless steel and 14K gold, which are locally sourced in Los Angeles. Each order comes packaged in recyclable and reusable packaging, while the embossed craft paper cards are biodegradable and compostable.

In addition, Bagatiba’s “Triple R Project” initiative brings circular fashion to your jewellery collection, by upcycling your unwanted pieces. Bagatiba has created a closed-loop cycle, which means the brand will accept all old or new metal jewellery, from any designer, that you no longer want. In return, Bagatiba will give you 25 percent off your next purchase.

Upon receiving the unwanted jewellery pieces, Bagatiba will melt these metals and use them towards new jewellery, metal objects, and art projects. Bagatiba’s initiative aims to create circularity in the buying process, rather than letting these metals end up in a landfill and harm the environment.

Bagatiba’s timeless “Cara Collection” is available for purchase online, with each clip priced at $36 USD (approximately $48 CAD).
