adidas by Stella McCartney recently released BEACH DEFENDER, their latest collection and as you might suspect, it’s eco-friendly.
Stella McCartney says that BEACH DEFENDER is meant to help the young generation move seamlessly between land and water.
That is why all pieces were specifically designed with a wide range of activities in mind, including hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, triathlons, and walking. In addition, many pieces feature adidas’ READY moisture management system, which works to wick moisture, leaving the wearer dry and comfortable in any condition.
With water in all forms at the centre of the collection, McCartney made a conscious choice to design garments in a palette of colour-blocked whites and blues, with accents of black and grey.
BEACH DEFENDER was created using the latest technology, as well as adidas’ patented PRIMEBLUE and PRIMEGREEN materials (the latter, a high-performance recycled material made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic, and the former, a series of high-performance recycled materials).
A few standouts from the collection include the adidas by Stella McCartney Trisuit, made from 65% recycled polyester, the Half-Zip Jacket, made from 100% recycled polyester (it even comes with a built-in mesh bag for collecting plastic or garbage found on the beach), and the Climacool Vento 3-in-1 trainers that work overtime as running shoes, sandals, and removable socks (they also happen to be made with 100% recycled ocean plastic).
Finally, one other item worth noting from the new BEACH DEFENDER collection is the Alphaedge 4D Translucent Shoe, which features a 3D printed midsole.
The BEACH DEFENDER collection is available now on Stella McCartney’s website.
