In the fall of 2020, beloved Stockholm-based fashion house Acne Studios debuted its “Repurposed” series to further push its sustainability initiatives. The aim of this series is to create new collections from leftover and deadstock fabrics and materials from previous seasons.
Following earlier capsules that spotlighted leather, tartan, and tweed, Acne Studios is this time utilizing excess cupro, printed chiffon, crinkled fabrics, crepe, cotton, viscose, and light-coloured eco-washed denim for its Repurposed Season 4 range.
Standouts in the Jonny Johansson-designed 9-piece lineup include the lavender and lilac two-toned oversized denim jacket and matching straight-legged jeans (which is also available in blue), along with the patchwork, long-sleeved button-up tops, and T-shirts made with a mix of floral prints and plaid patterns. Elsewhere, a summery dress with asymmetric hem and seams is also a noteworthy item to add to your wardrobe.
Each environmentally conscious item from this collection was designed and created where previous Acne Studios collections were manufactured, in effect cutting down on the negative environmental impacts of transportation and freight.
Acne Studios promises to remain true to the series’ overarching philosophy, with each upcoming capsule to offer a new perspective from the brand.
Acne Studios’s sustainably-minded Repurposed Season 4 collection is now available in stores and online.
