A Mexico City-based architectural studio called Productora has created a mobile library for Fundación Alumnos47, an organization focused on fostering the exchange of knowledge through contemporary art.

Designed as a means of reaching a broader community of people with contemporary artistic practices, the mobile library is able to house up to 1500 artist book collections. Striving to become more than just a library on wheels, the truck also doubles as a 215 sq ft (20 sq m) cultural centre by implementing smart design and movable platforms for different configurations.

The resulting space is dynamic, transparent and in constant change with the environment. With the open platform enabling various activities such as book launches, readings, exhibitions and or workshops to take place, the arrangement of 26 doors that sets up a link between interior and exterior of the mobile library allows air to flow through the space, inviting the public to come in and become part of the street itself.
