At The Game Awards 2019, the newest Xbox console called Xbox Series X has been unveiled by Microsoft.
“For eighteen years and three console generations, the Xbox community has shown us the power both games and fun can have on all of us,” said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox. “As we enter a new generation of gaming, we see a future where you’re instantly absorbed in your games – where worlds are even more lifelike, immersive, responsive and surprising – and where you are at the center of your gaming experience. With the new Xbox Series X, we will realize that vision.”
Said to be the fastest, most powerful Xbox console ever with a new bar for performance, speed, efficiency and compatibility, the Xbox Series X’s processing power is four times that of Xbox One X.
Featuring a Zen 2 and RDNA processor with patented Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology, the console is capable of 4K at 60FPS up to 120FPS.
In addition to new releases, the Xbox Series X will enable gamers to play the classics from previous Xbox console generations.
A new Xbox Wireless Controller has also been unveiled alongside the Xbox Series X. The Xbox One and Windows 10 PC compatible controller features a hybrid d-pad that is inspired by the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.
The Xbox Series X is set to become available around the 2020 Holiday season.
