Based in London, Wild is a budding company on a mission to radically change the environmentally-destructive behaviours and habits associated with personal care products. How? Wild creates deodorants that consist of two component parts: the reusable case and refill.
The reusable case is made from anodized aluminum and post-consumer recycled plastic details, and the deodorant refills are contained within bamboo pulp cases, which are entirely recyclable and home compostable – when the deodorant refill is used up, simply remove the bamboo pulp casing, recycle, and refill your reusable case with another deodorant refill.
The refills individually weight 43 grams (approximately 1.5 ounces), and according to Wild will last for approximately four weeks with daily use. The reusable case can last you a lifetime, and is ideal for travel, as the deodorant formula inside is solid, and will be kept safe by the case.
The deodorants contain nature-derived ingredients, and are paraben-free, containing no synthetic chemicals, aluminum, or sulphates. All deodorant refills are gluten-free, due to the use of tapioca starch, and all ingredients are vegan and are never tested on animals.
Each refill contains a minimal amount of bicarbonate of soda (which is used in deodorants to control odour), in order to minimize irritation whilst also maintaining all-day protection and freshness. Whilst keeping you fresh, moisturizing ingredients such as shea butter and coconut oil create a smooth texture and application.
Wild’s deodorant is formulated for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is gender-neutral in formulation and scent. There are no artificial fragrances – Wild use the base ingredients (all of which can be found online) and a combination of essential oils, extracts, and natural molecules in order to create the deodorant’s scents, all of which are formulated for sensitive skin.
The current five scents on offer are Rose Blush (scents of floral rose), Orange Zest (scents of sweet fruit), Coconut Dreams (scents of coconut and vanilla), Mint Fresh (scents of sage and mint), and Bergamot Rituals (scents of bergamot and geranium).
The deodorant created by Wild is not an antiperspirant, as there are no aluminum salts used. Instead, it contains alternatives such as tapioca starch to absorb moisture. With no aluminum salts, yellow stains on your clothing are a thing of the past (staining occurs when aluminum in the deodorant reacts with naturally occurring salts in sweat).
Wild ships out directly from their packing center in South-East England. Shipping is available worldwide, with home delivery free to the UK, however international home delivery and shipping costs vary depending on product size. UK delivery takes 2-5 days, and international delivery is estimated between 7-10 working days, though it can be up to three weeks from order confirmation to the date of shipment. Refills fit right through the letterbox, in recyclable, plastic-free packaging.
