Online fashion rental platform Rent the Runway has teamed up with designer, entrepreneur, and star of the TV show The Hills, Whitney Port, to release a sustainable capsule collection.

The collection, which recently launched is called Love, Whit.

“I’ve always been a fan of Rent the Runway. Their entire model of making fashion more sustainable is really important — it makes women feel good about what they’re putting on their body,” said Whitney Port.

In terms of sustainability, a third of all pieces in the Love, Whit women’s collection are made from recycled fabrics and BCI cotton. (For those that don’t know, BCI stands for Better Cotton Initiative, a global not for profit organization that promotes better standards in cotton farming.)

The Love, Whit collection takes inspiration from Port’s personal style, which could be described as laid-back and feminine. Pieces are versatile. They were designed so that each and everyone could be mixed and matched and layered, but many can also be worn on their own as “one and done” outfits. (The latter was something important to Port because as a busy mother, she knows how much of a challenge it can be to get yourself dressed in the morning.)

The line is made up of fun and floral prints, perfect for summer. Customers will find everything from ruffled floral midi skirts and ruched, tie waist maxi dresses to smocked crop tops and paper bag shorts. The Love, Whit collection is made up of just 19 styles in a range of hues, some bright and bold and others more neutral.

Finally, this collaboration between fashionista Whitney Port and Rent the Runway isn’t just centered on sustainability or cute summer fashion. The collection also wants to help those adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Rent the Runway has pledged to donate $10 for every customer who signs up for a Rent the Runway membership to Until We Do It, a nonprofit organization that is working to distribute over 50 million face masks to at-risk communities.

All Love, Whit pieces cost between $30 and $45 to rent when you have a Rent the Runway membership. Click here to learn more and shop Rent the Runway’s Love, Whit collection.
