Weston Estate, who have dubbed themselves “ya aunty’s favorite boyband,” is a rising talent to watch out for in 2021.

The North Carolina-based boyband comprises college students Srikar Naduri, Manas Panchavati, Tammy Joshi, Abhi Manhass, and Marco Luka. The collective started the band in 2017 while still in high school.

Fans have fallen in love with Weston Estate’s unique style, reminiscent of the band’s significant inspirations: Frank Ocean, Jaden Smith, Bakar, and Omar Apollo. Arista Records recently signed the band; however, much of their production has remained in-house. As such, band member and producer Abhi Manhass uses FL Studio to make each track’s beats.

Weston Estate has released several successful singles, including “Close The Door,” “Cotton Candy,” “Saturday Nights,” and most recently, “Pears.”

Weston Estate told The Hidden Hits that making ‘Pears’ was an outlet for the band to terms with uncertainty regarding their creative identities. Between the rippling guitar, deep bass, and angst-driven harmonies, “Pears” feels like the band’s self-described creative ‘coming-of-age.’

After dropping an official lyric video and visualizer, the band decided to surprise fans with an acoustic video. Directed by Ryan Pham and Max Romero, the fans get a glimpse into an intimate Weston Estate jam session.

The whole feel of the performance is genuinely organic. The concert begins with the band set up on a picnic blanket in the middle of a meadow, sitting on chairs, amp boxes, and yoga balls. Manas, Marco, and Tanmay bounce back and forth, bopping as they get lost in the music. By the time the song climaxes, all of the boys are up on their feet, dancing in the meadow. Yet, despite the lighthearted, fun feel of the video, the boys’ undeniable talent and charisma shine through in the live rendition.

The acoustic video for “Pears” is down-to-earth and authentic, just like its performers. With a new single “Outside” dropping on August 13th, the future seems bright and boundless for the Weston Estate.
