California-based swimwear brand Vitamin A and New York-based womenswear designer Misha Nonoo have teamed up on a bi-coastal, sustainable capsule collection.
The 11-piece collection includes everything from beach dresses and breezy tunics to one-piece swimsuits and bikinis, and best of all, everything is made out of plant-based, eco-friendly materials.
For the capsule, Vitamin A’s signature one-piece and bikini silhouettes were reimagined in new colourways. But like always, they were largely made from the brand’s patented EcoLux fabric, which is made locally in Southern California out of recycled nylon.
The swimwear part of the collection comprises two bikini tops, one triangle and one bandeau, two bikini bottoms, one classic and one high waisted, and an open-back one-piece bodysuit. All items are available in two new colours: sapphire and sea green.
Meanwhile, the six essential beachwear pieces were designed by Misha Nonoo, and like the swimwear, they also used sustainable materials. To bring her versatile tunic, belted maxi dress, high waisted shorts, slip dress, slip skirt, and lightweight v-neck blouse to life, Nonoo utilized Bluesign certified, 100% washable silk and 100% organic cotton voile.
In addition, the designer employs an on-demand manufacturing model whereby garments are cut and sewn only after an order has been placed, ensuring minimal waste.
Ultimately, the Vitamin A x Misha Nonoo summer capsule collection showcases both brands’ commitment to sustainability, flawlessly combining Vitamin A’s pre-existing penchant for eco-friendly materials with Misha Nonoo’s on-demand manufacturing model.
The overarching idea was to create a collection of sustainable summer essentials that can take the consumer straight from the pool to brunch or vice versa.
The Vitamin A x Misha Nonoo collection is available now, with swimsuits shoppable on Vitamin A’s website and clothing items sold exclusively on Misha Nonoo’s website.
