Two emerging powerhouse brands have converged, merging their distinctive visions of sustainability and style into a remarkable creation. The Veja X Reformation Venturi Sneakers are the epitome of this collaborative fusion—a testament to the idea that fashion can be both chic and eco-conscious.
Sustainable Materials at Their Core
The Venturi Sneakers come in two colours, each with its unique material composition. Whether you choose the Juta or Walnut colorway, you’ll find a commitment to sustainable materials and practices throughout.
The Walnut colorway features an upper constructed from Alveomesh, a technical fabric derived from 100% recycled polyester. Alveomesh not only offers breathability and flexibility but also reduces the environmental impact by giving new life to discarded plastics.
The Juta colorway boasts an upper made from J-Mesh, a fabric crafted from 33% jute and 67% recycled cotton. This fabric offers antistatic, thermoregulatory, and breathable properties while showcasing the potential of natural and recycled materials.
Responsible Leather and Recycled Components
Sustainability isn’t limited to the upper material alone. Both colorways incorporate suede sourced from farms in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. What sets this suede apart is the responsible tanning process, which excludes hazardous or prohibited chemicals. Certified Gold by the Leather Working Group, this suede demonstrates that luxurious materials can coexist with eco-friendly production.
Inside the Venturi Sneakers, you’ll find a lining made from recycled polyester. This clever use of recycled materials reduces the demand for virgin resources while maintaining comfort and quality. The laces, too, follow suit, being crafted from recycled polyester and, as a thoughtful touch, supplemented with an extra set made from 100% organic cotton.
A Sustainable Foundation
The sole of the Venturi Sneakers is equally impressive. The outsole is composed of 31% Amazonian rubber, potentially supporting sustainable rubber production practices. In the midsole, you’ll find 38% sugar cane, harnessing the renewable potential of this crop.
The cushioning insert, known as L-Foam, is made from 30% natural latex. This not only provides superior comfort but also aids in vibration protection. Natural latex is a biodegradable alternative to synthetic foams, further underscoring the commitment to sustainability.
