Following the opening of their first flagship US store in Nolita in 2020, eco-friendly footwear brand VEJA has opened another brand new store in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Spanning 2300 square feet, the store features a juxtaposition of materials ranging from original brick walls, concrete floors, wooden ceilings, reclaimed wood benches, and plaster displays. Designed by Office JDY architects, the store is said to be a reflection of VEJA’s minimal aesthetic and sustainable ethos.
“The resulting design and material contract not only celebrates the character of the existing building but also serves to place a heightened focus on the curated arrangement of shoes throughout the space,” says Office JDY.
The Brooklyn store also features an in-house cobbler and cobbler station. Over the past few years, VEJA has been gradually establishing in-house cobblers across Europe alongside the launch of new stores. These cobblers offer repair services for sneakers and shoes from any brand, with a remarkable tally of over 20,000 shoes already repaired to date. Heading the repair operations in Brooklyn is Chrystal, who will be available in the shop for repairs from Wednesday through Sunday.
