THE SERIES

New York-based label THE SERIES is the latest eco-friendly fashion brand pushing a sustainable initiative. The slow fashion label, founded by Ella Wiznia in 2016, has been emerging into the scene with its eye-catching and one-of-a-kind crochet and patchwork garments.

Wanting to place a strong focus on both environmental and body issues caused by the fashion world, Wiznia made it her goal to use pre-existing materials only when creating and designing her clothes to suit all body types and beings. Additionally, to lower its carbon footprint, the colourful garments are all handmade in New York, making them truly unique.

THE SERIES

For its seasonal Spring 2021 collection, THE SERIES offers up a range of genderless pieces boasting its signature patchwork and crochet detailing. Items include dresses, tank tops, crop tops, pants, jeans, and button-up shirts.

A few of the garments feature a repeating daisy motif throughout, which follows onto the Granny dress, along with a pair of pants and shorts. These items are reconstructed from vintage handmade crochet blankets, making them all one-of-a-kind.

Elsewhere, the button-down quilted short sleeve shirts spotlight the label’s patchwork technique as well as the selection of jeans also sporting the patchwork details. These pieces have been recreated using vintage and antique yo-yo quilts, textiles, and buttons.

Items from THE SERIES’ Spring 2021 collection are now available via the label’s website.
