MARY YOUNG

For the Fall/Winter 2020 season, Canadian lingerie label MARY YOUNG is gearing up for the colder months ahead with a range of beautifully designed and ethically made intimates and loungewear.

Named after its founder and designer Mary Young, the Toronto-based company champions sustainability and body positivity. The new range remains true to the brand’s ethos and features a collection comprised of bras, panties, bodysuits, and loungewear created to hug the natural curves of its wearers.

Highlights from MARY YOUNG’s Fall/Winter 2020 range includes the Backless Thong Bodysuit, which is crafted from stretch bamboo jersey to provide all-day comfort. Also featured are the new caramel-hued rib pieces, the Ryder Crop and matching boxer briefs, that can be worn as a set or styled separately with your autumnal outfits. The same material can also be found on the Lani Bodysuit, a cozy, minimal one-piece that is designed with a scoop neckline and a full bum cut.

Elsewhere, the brand’s beloved Contrast Bra and Lux High Waist Brief arrive in a new chic colour combination of cornflower blue and black. Additionally, the low rise Logan Bikini offers up a sexy tomboy option with its mesh and bamboo jersey panelling design with a Brazilian cut. Each piece in the seasonal range is dressed in fall-appropriate hues of oxblood, olive, camel, grey, and white.

Overall, no metal underwire or padding is used in any of MARY YOUNG’s designs, while the use of rayon from organic bamboo knit sourced from China is used instead of any slippery nylon or polyester, and mesh in place of lace. The rayon is OEKO-TEX® certified and has passed UV testing. In a further step to lower its carbon footprint, none of MARY YOUNG’s fabrics include chlorine bleach or dyes that release carcinogenic amine compounds, and the use of synthetic sizing agents is prohibited during the knitting and weaving process to avoid waste.

All the materials used are ethically-sourced and designed by 25-year-old Young and produced in a factory located in Montreal where equal wages and conditions are being met. With that, Young is doing her part to change the lingerie industry.
