These days, it seems every single influencer and celeb is launching their own beauty brand. For superstar Scarlett Johansson, her skincare brand called The Outset stands out from the rest because it is rooted in simplicity with formulas made from vegan ingredients.

Inspiration for The Outset comes from Johansson’s experience being the face of various beauty brands and her approach to skincare which she developed from her previous struggles with acne and sensitivity.

“After representing luxury beauty brands in their campaigns for many years, I felt like I finally had the confidence to take a seat at the table and have an active voice in a brand’s direction. I wanted to create and represent a brand that felt true to me, something real and intimate that others could see themselves in, too,” explains Johansson.

Together with business partner Kate Foster, a former beauty/fashion executive, Johansson spent years building and refining until finally introducing The Outset to the world.

The Outset’s cruelty-free product offerings include a cleanser, prep serum, moisturizer, night cream and eye cream. The packaging is made from a mix of post-consumer recycled material, recyclable glass and sugarcane-derived bio-resin.
