Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, has collaborated with running brand On to create THE ROGER Centre Court 0-Series, a unisex tennis-inspired sneaker that features vegan leather.
THE ROGER has been created with sustainability in mind, as On co-founder David Allemann strongly believes that it is important to protect the natural beauty that surrounds us.
Designed to be lightweight and require less material consumption, THE ROGER’s environmental footprint is said to be significantly smaller when compared to a conventional sneaker.
Hidden in the sole is a Speedboard which On says makes “every step feel lighter”. Speedboard is a liquid-injected plate of thermoplastic polymer that improves a runner’s agility.
All in all, THE ROGER is a sustainable, minimalist, and comfortable design that many are yearning for. Roger Federer is pleased with the sneaker, saying: “I love working with the On team, using my knowledge of performance footwear and personal interest in fashion to contribute to product development. I’m proud to be a part of the creation of THE ROGER, which is the most comfortable tennis-inspired sneaker you will ever wear.”
As of today, THE ROGER has completly sold out. On says that more opportunities to purchase the sneaker will become available in the near future.
