A China-based startup has created a ceramic 3D printer called CERAMBOT that is user-friendly and relatively affordable.

“The key to artistic expression is the ability to turn ideas into reality,” said the startup in a statement. “Ceramics have been used as the basis for fine art since the dawn of time. Now, that important heritage continues by adding the power of 3D printing technology. Until now, ceramic 3D printing has been prohibitively expensive and difficult to use, making it a challenge for personal users. That’s why we created the CERAMBOT 3D printer. It’s fast, accurate, easy to use and it’s the most affordable printer of its kind.”

The CERAMBOT Pro version is designed with an industrial linear guide rail and a high-precision motor drive extrusion device, as well as an extruder and a patented worm gear motor speed reducer. Able to print with a mechanical precision of 0.1 mm and a print resolution of 100 microns, it is also designed to eliminate air bubbles in the clay mixture, negating the need for air compressors.

There is also a cheaper version of the 3D printer called CERAMBOT Air that uses air compressors.

With 2 configurations available, the CERAMBOT Pro and Air version are designed to be used straight out of the box while the universal extruder kit is designed to be attached to an FDM 3D printer to extend the capabilities of a 3D printer that a user may already own.
