Reebok is making major strides when it comes to sustainability.
Not only did they recently release an eco-friendly footwear capsule with STORY mfg., but now they have announced the launch of a bio-based sneaker in honour of Earth Month. The sneaker in question is called the Reebok Nano X1 Vegan, and it’s an animal-free version of their training shoe, the Nano X1.
Made up of 40% bio-based materials, these performance shoes offer comfort, support, and are suitable for everyday wear or high-intensity activities such as running.
Reebok says the new and improved vegan version of these training shoes were created to offer customers a plant-based approach to working out.
The Reebok Nano X1 Vegan style consists of a Floatride Energy Foam midsole made of plant-based castor bean oil (known for its flexibility) and EVA foam, as well as a Flexweave knit upper made out of cotton and wood spun yarn. Further, the outsole is sourced from natural rubber.
Currently available in one colourway: a combination of Classic White, Harmony Green, and Brave Blue, the Nano X1 Vegans retail for $160 CAD and will be available for purchase on Reebok’s website as of April 18.
