A partnership between Italian luxury fashion house Prada and global activewear brand adidas has resulted in the unveiling of the new A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 shoes.

Designed to be worn by the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team, an Italian sailboat racing team established by Prada in 1997, the futuristic-looking silhouette took inspiration from the design of the new AC75 Luna Rossa boat, in addition to iconic footwear previously designed by Prada and adidas.

Further, both brands worked closely with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli athletes when designing A+P LUNA ROSSA 21, incorporating their feedback in order to improve the performance and function. The result was a technical shoe suitable for a multitude of extreme sports, including sailing, with the comfort and design of a shoe that is appropriate for leisure time.

In addition to the design, sustainability was a top priority during its creation. For instance, the shoe’s upper is made of Primegreen, a patented, high-performance material derived from recycled materials, including recycled polyester. The upper is also encased in a hydrophobic E-TPU outer shell, which is flexible, breathable, supportive, and waterproof all at once.

The A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 shoes are scheduled to be released on December 9. They will be available in Prada and adidas flagship stores worldwide, as well as online.
