American chicken chain Popeyes will soon be opening its very first UK location. Another first for the chain will be a plant-based burger on the menu.

Instead of partnering with vegan meat companies such as Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, Popeyes has created its own patty blend made of a red bean base mixed with rice.

Toppings for the plant-based burger served on a Brioche bun include onion, garlic, peppers, tomato, and parsley. The sauce is made with garlic, peppers, onion, tomato, and parsley.

Popeyes’ very first UK location situated inside the Westfield Stratford City in London is set to open its doors on November 20. Over the next 10 years, Popeyes is aiming to open 350 locations throughout the UK.
