Alo Yoga SUTRA

Alo Yoga has ventured into the food industry by opening up its first raw plant-based restaurant in New York City.

Named SUTRA, the fresh location was created in collaboration with celebrity chef Matthew Kenney, a pioneer in plant-based cuisine who operates 40 restaurants on five continents. SUTRA aims to provide a nourishing, health-forward menu in a modern setting and acts as an escape from the bustling streets of Manhattan.

In terms of dishes, the vegan restaurant offers up an elegant and carefully-curated menu featuring mainly raw plant-based and pure dishes that are healthy and organic. Additionally, each nourishing dish is composed of source-driven, nutrient-dense foods with the natural integrity of the ingredients being preserved. The aim, of course, is to provide clean food that supports the lifestyles of yoga enthusiasts.

SUTRA’s inaugural menu consists of minimalistic and elevated dishes such as an omega 3-beet poke with crispy rice, pineapple adobo tacos, carrot and zucchini pasta, and golden milk coconut cream pie with spiced cashew.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic, SUTRA is currently open for lunch only from Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. In the upcoming months, the restaurant will introduce breakfast and dinner options, along with a full organic bar service.

SUTRA is situated on the roof of the new four-story, 13,000-square-foot Alo Flatiron Sanctuary store located at 164 Fifth Avenue.
