With the aim to improve beauty and healthcare, Japanese electronics corporation Panasonic has combined image processing, material chemistry, and printing technology to develop a smart mirror alongside a makeup sheet that is tailored according to an individual’s skin.
Using Panasonic’s Snow Beauty Mirror, skin characterisitics such as colour, freckles, wrinkles and pores are scanned and processed.
A concealer and foundation layer based on the skin data is then printed onto medical film using an inkjet printer with cosmetic ink. The result is a 100-nanometre makeup sheet that is applied with ease.
Snow Beauty Mirror and Make-Up Sheet is set to become available in 2020.
“By 2020, applying facial sheets will become a major way to do makeup,” said Panasonic.
