Known for their luxurious leather offerings, emerging Italian footwear label Nomasei (founded by Chloé alums Paule Tenaillon and Marine Braquet) has called upon style influencers and twins Molly and Reese Blutstein for an eco-conscious NONO moccasin collab.
The pairing is perfect considering Nomasei’s goal to create “slow luxury” to keep up with a more sustainable model, while the sisters are both very eco-minded. With an aim to push their environmental initiatives, Nomasei and the sisters have launched a special edition iteration of the former’s cult-favorite NONO moccasin.
The classic box-toed silhouette arrives in two colour options, one that sees the upper dressed in “Buttery Yellow,” while the other adds a contrasting brown forefoot strap. Both options are embellished with Nomasei’s signature gold hand ornament logo spotlighted on the forefoot strap, along with contrasting brown stitching. This all sits atop a matching brown midsole.
Although not vegan, the NONO moccasins are crafted out of surplus leather sourced from the local meat industry in Montopoli, Tuscany. Nomasei continues to incorporate sustainable components into the moccasins such as recyclable zippers and biodegradable soles. Elsewhere, the insole is fleece-lined and equipped with memory foam to provide extra comfort for the wearer.
All of the moccasin’s elements are sourced locally within a 30 km radius of Nomasei’s Italian factory. Moreover, the collaborative moccasin are made with Tuscany’s regional supply chain in mind, which helps to reduce Nomasei’s carbon footprint. On top of that, Nomasei only produces two curated collections per year to keep at the forefront of the slow fashion movement.
The limited-edition Molly and Reese Blutstein x Nomasei NONO moccasin collab is available now via Nomasei’s online store. Pricing ranges from $410 to $430 USD (approximately $512 to $537 CAD).
