British heritage brand Mulberry is celebrating its 50th anniversary in style with an all-new collaboration.

This time around, they are partnering with English model and designer Alexa Chung, as a nod to their long-standing friendship and shared history (Mulberry’s 2010 Alexa bag was named after Chung).

The Mulberry x Alexa Chung collection, which launched this week, is a limited-edition capsule featuring just two bag styles. The first is a spacious shoulder bag called “Big Guy,” and the second is a compact clutch, fittingly dubbed “Little Guy.” Each bag is available in dark, earthy hues like Apple Green, Dark Chocolate, Denim Blue, Tan Suede, and Black Velvet.

The capsule was inspired by Chung’s personal style (described as “masculine formality offset with a vintage romance”), as well as the style of ‘70s fashion icons, like Laura Hutton and Charlotte Rampling.

Fans of Mulberry’s original Alexa bag may notice some similarities, as the new Mulberry x Alexa Chung styles take a few cues from their predecessors, mainly in the form of chain straps and box silhouettes.

In addition, both parties wanted to ensure that the capsule furthered the brand’s commitment to sustainability. As such, the bags are made of materials sourced from environmentally-rated tanneries. For example, all leather came from Mulberry’s partner tannery in Italy, which is a member of the Leather Working Group and has a Gold Standard rating. Plus, all bags were produced locally in Mulberry’s carbon-neutral factories in Somerset.

The environmentally responsible Mulberry x Alexa Chung capsule collection is available now, exclusively on Mulberry’s website. Prices range from £1,095 for Big Guy to £895 for Little Guy.
